There is No Justice in This World Saturday, May 23, 2009 11:39 AM The guy that should have won American Idol...  ADAM LAMBERT, PEOPLE!     Kiss, the freaky band that Adam sang with at the finale.  ARCHIE <3 got a new haircut! It's slightly shorter now. So hot! XD He was at the AI finale, you know?   Omg. I can't believe we saw him in real life! It's too good to be true! Yesterday Tze Yun said her sister thinks Adam and Allison are dating. O_O Do you think they're dating? Or are they just really close friends? 11:51 AM Okay, I'm kinda bored, so I'm just gonna do a tag from Emily's blog. Songs Favourite female artists: Vanessa Carlton, Taylor Swift, Demi Lovato. Um. I don't know. Maybe Katy Perry? Favorite male artists: David Archuleta ♥, Adam Lambert (does he count?), Daughtry. Favourite bands: Tokio Hotel <3, Paramore, Fall Out Boy, Jonas Brothers, Panic at the Disco, We the Kings. I also like The Man Who Can't Be Moved by The Script, but that's just one song so I dunno. Homecoming by Hey Monday is good too. American Idol. What is the last SMS you received? "Yes." From my cell group leader. What did you reply? I didn't reply. Where are you now? In the study/computer room. What are you going to do after this? Um. I don't know. Eat or write in my diary? Who do you usually talk to in your work place? You mean school? Sarah, Emily, and Rachel! This or that? Pink or Orange? Pink. Blue or Green? Both? Bluish-green is nice too. Cats or Dogs? Both. But usually dogs, I think, coz cats might scratch me... But then again, dogs bite. Oh well. But I especially like Sarah and Rachel's adorable army of furry felines. Roses or Daisies? Both. But I don't keep real flowers coz they're gonna die anyway. I'm not good at gardening. 12:53 PM Guess what? I finally got the new bookshelf that I wanted! It's really small and has wheels, but there are several of them. Pretty cute. But pretty useless too. Each row is too low to fit even one of the small books. The people measured it wrongly, I guess. Ish! What a waste! So I'm gonna get another bookshelf. Hopefully THIS time they'll be actually useful. =.='' 4:14 PM Omg guys, check out this incredibly, freaking sexy video of Bill! I love it coz it's really good and pretty short (44 seconds long). Anyway, it's awesome! Omg! And this adorable vid of Archie, David Cook, and Syesha! 1:35 -- Cook: He [Archie]'s got a real dry wit, he's really funny. Even when he's not trying to be. Archie: What does "dry wit" mean? ... Actually, what DOES "dry wit" mean? I had to go look it up. Dry wit: (1) "The essence of the dryness is that there is nothing funny about the wit's facial expression or style of delivery. The humour lies totally in the spoken word. Victor Borge and Peter Ustinov were past masters at this." (2) "Dry wit humor would be the kind of humor where your not all together sure they're joking." I still don't get it 100%. I wish someone had some examples or something! 4:46 PM Finally got some examples of dry humor! 1. Mahatma Ghandi was asked by an English journalist what he thought of Western Civilization. Ghandi replied, "Ahhh, that would be a very good idea." 2. My late husband was Irish and had an extremely dry sense of humour. I once told him that a man, passing me in the street, said to me, "Hello gorgeous." My husband replied, with a straight face, "What colour was his guide dog?" 3. "I spilled some spot remover on my dog. Now he's gone." Dry humor is characterized by restraint, and lack of emotion in its delivery. It is wry. Dry humour = amusing, not rolling on the floor with laughter kind of humour. Deadpan humour = said with a straight face, and often it's hard to tell if someone if joking or not. I think I get it now. What about this? Emily: Nowadays I'm so nice and polite! Me: Modest, too. Emily: Thank you! Was that dry humor? Or was it just sarcasm? Btw, that actually happened. Oh, more examples from a TV show called Frasier: (after his brother has made a particularly self-serving statement): "Niles, I've got news for you. Copernicus called and you're NOT the center of the universe." Frasier (talking to a caller on his radio program): "There's an incredible piece of scientific equipment known as the Tunneling Electron Microscope. Now, this microscope is so powerful that by firing electrons you can actually see images of the atom, the infinitesimally minute building block of our universe. If I were using that microscope right now, I still wouldn't be able to locate my interest in your problem." 5:26 PM David Archuleta - Imagine Omg. Start at 5:23! Ryan pretended to leave David on the stage coz all the girls were screaming for him (David), so David was like, "No! Oh no, don't leave me here!" OMG.
